Hamilton and

in the Uintah Basin and moved to
the Tri-City, Wash., area after
graduating from high school.
He married LaRee Mower of
Roosevelt, Utah, on April 12,
1949. Together they had four chil-
dren: Debra (Brian) Gudmundson
of Mendon, Utah; Janice (Ken)
Worley of Holladay, Utah; Terri
(Allen) Foote of Lehi, Utah; and
Steven Mark Hamilton.

in order to raise their children
closer to extended family. He
returned to the Pacific Northwest
in 1977 shortly after the couple
divorced.
He had resided in Florence
since the mid-1980s.
Steve owned and operated sev-
eral service stations in Utah and
Oregon, retiring from this profes-
sion in the mid-1990s. He helped
many who worked for him to be
successful in the trade. He taught
them the benefits that come with
hard work and being honest in
their dealings.
In addition to auto mechanics,
he also enjoyed driving his tow
truck to assist people in need.
Steve married Phyllis Lotton
on Oct. 11, 2003. They built their
dream home in Florence and
together enjoyed dancing and
traveling until health issues made
both of these difficult for Steve.
He loved music, and taught
himself to play the guitar and har-
monica at a young age. He thor-
oughly enjoyed entertaining fam-
ily and friends with his singing
and playing.
He also loved the outdoors and
enjoyed camping and fishing in
the High Uintahs in Utah with his
brother,
sister-in-law
and
nephews.
Steve liked to stay busy and
would always find something that
needed to be fixed or taken care
of; he didn’t like to be idle.
He is survived by his wife,
daughters, two sisters (Alma
Brines and Rhea Owens), eight
grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
