Quattrosound outreach program moved to library

Association’s first free commu-
nity enrichment event for the
2015-16 season has been
moved from Siuslaw High
School to the Bromley Room at
the Siuslaw Public Library.
The event will feature Latin
Grammy-nominated
Quattrosound, an innovative

ing conflict with the school.
The free event will instead
take place at 11:30 a.m. on
Friday, Oct. 9. Students and the
public are invited.

season at 7 p.m. that evening.
As part of their service to the
community, SEAcoast books
many of its performers to pro-
vide master classes for stu-
dents, make visitations at sen-
ior care facilities or host public
meet-and-greets in addition to
their concerts.

their ethnicities. According to
their website, this innovative
acoustic-based ensemble skill-
fully blurs the lines between
music genres.
The members are equally
astute at playing a classical
piece by Bach as they are at
covering Led Zeppelin or jazz-
fusion artist Chick Corea.
Individually, these L.A.-
based musicians have played
with the likes of Bocelli,
Barbara Streisand, Yo-Yo Ma,
Annie
Lennox,
Michael
Jackson, Layla Hathaway,
Ricky Martin and Gloria
Estefan.
Together, they create a
unique musical experience with
impressive technicality that
brings audiences to their feet at
every performance.
Music critics from across the
country
have
described
Quattrosound as “blindingly
talented,” “Bursting with intel-
lect, passion and virtuosity,”
and “Sounding like nothing
you’ve heard before.”
SEAcoast’s 2015-16 lineup
also includes vocalist Ken
Lavigne, Nov. 21; guitarist
Jesse Cook, Jan. 29; Ballet
Fantastique, Feb. 20; the Glenn
Miller Orchestra, March 18;
Shuffle (a group so multitalent-
ed they let the audience pick
the playlist), April 7; and
gypsy-jazz artists The New Hot
Club of America, May 13.
Individual concert tickets are
$30 each (students under 18,
$10), but a season ticket pack-
age is $150, affording buyers a
per-show savings of more than
$8.
