Spruce Point poetry appreciation group leader turns 100 today
is an awful long time.
But it doesn’t seem
like that at all.
“I tell people,
sometimes, I wonder
why I even get up out
of bed, because by
the time I turn around
a couple of times, it’s
time to go back to
bed. The day goes so
fast,” she added.
Chellis is still
perusing her lifelong
passion of writing
poetry and leads a
weekly poetry appre-
ciation group at
Spruce Point. All
poetry lovers are
invited to attend.
Mayor Joe Henry
dropped by to read an
official proclimation
in honor of the event.

Chellis said.
