Director David Lauria has
announced one of the most
exciting casts to be assembled
for the Last Resort Players
(LRP) fall production of
“Chicago.”
“This is a musical that I have
always wanted to direct. When
it became available for a limit-
ed time, I knew LRP had to do
it. Once again the depth of tal-
ent that showed up for audi-
tions blew me away. As I told
them – ‘This is going to be one
hot show so if you can’t take
the heat, stay out of the fire!’”
said Lauria.
According to LRP, the
Florence community that came
out for auditions gave an “act
with lots of flash” in it.
This incredibly talented cast
is going to begin putting the
show together this month and
they won’t stop until they see
your ‘sheeba shimmy shake.
“Chicago” will have its
The Boys and Girls Club of
Western Lane County will be
holding a special presentation
at 6 p.m., tomorrow, July 23, at
the Teen Center building, 1601
15th St., to announce the new
strategic direction of the club
and the reopening of the Teen
Center in September.
There will be a tour of the
completely refurbished and
remodeled Teen Center.
