Office Assistant Position – Hourly/Half Time
Wage from $12 to $15 per hour commensurate with experience.
Florence Habitat for Humanity, Inc. is looking for two general office work-
ers with good communication and computer skills as well as some book-
keeping experience. These positions require a professional approach to
answering the telephone, taking accurate messages, general filing, project
file creation and maintenance, writing letters, setting up Xcel spreadsheets
and working with the Executive Director and Neighborhood Revitalization
Manager as executive assistants. Excellent grammar, vocabulary and
spelling are mandatory. A writing sample will be required.
Habitat’s Office Assistants will be privy to confidential information and
must be willing to undergo a criminal background check. Exceptional integrity,
discretion and courtesy as well as a good sense of humor are required at-
tributes. Good organization and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, vol-
unteer based operation are necessary skills.
Qualifications:
• An associate Arts Degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Two years of office experience.
• Three letters of recommendation from prior employers and/or teachers.
• A history of excellent attendance and dependability.
• Willingness to take responsibility.
• Ability to interact well and courteously with a wide variety of people and to
provide office services to volunteer committees as needed.
