    Yachats Arts Guild hosts summer show July 2-5
YACHATS — The Yachats
Arts Guild will host its annual
summer show July 2 through
July 5 at The Commons, located
at W. Fourth St. and Highway
101 in Yachats.
The guild welcomes new mem-
bers Kathy Whitson, Eileen
Lighthawk, Lee Haynes, Mark
Adcock and Jane McCarthy.
These new guild members, as
well as original participating
artists Claire Good, Carol
Summers and Barry Campbell,
are just a few of the artists who
will be featured in this summer’s
show.
The show will feature various
mediums of artwork including
watercolor, oil, acrylic, photogra-
phy and wood-turned bowls and
vases.
Original paintings as well as
prints and note cards will be avail-
able for purchase.

First Friday Art to celebrate Myrtlewood Factory on second Friday for July
REEDSPORT — The Myrtlewood
Gallery has been in Reedsport for 30
years. Join everyone for the 30th
Anniversary
Celebration
of
the
Myrtlewood Gallery doing business in
Reedsport.
The Myrtlewood Gallery will also be
hosting the Central Douglas Arts and
Business Alliance’s (CDABA) First
Friday art event.
However, for July the event will be held
on the second Friday, July 10, from 4 to 7
p.m.
The hours have been extended to be
sure everyone has a chance to stop by and
join in on the celebration.
The Myrtlewood Gallery is a gallery of
fine woodworking, specializing in bring-
ing its customers the warmth of wood
from the Pacific Northwest.
The myrtlewood products and works of
art are all professionally crafted by the
local artists and woodworkers. The gallery
represents the work of over 80 local artists
and woodworkers.
The gallery also carries a large selec-
tion of raw wood for purchase. From
wood slabs to carving stock and lumber;
myrtlewood to maple burl and black wal-
nut.
In addition to appreciating the work of
the artists, everyone is invited to take part
in the celebration with finger foods and
music by the Worn Out Frets.
Paul Taylor and Bill York have been
playing together for a few years and most
perform on the south coast of Oregon.
Paul plays electric guitar and Bill plays
acoustic guitar and harmonica.
They play and sing a variety of music
from Etta James to Willie Nelson.
The event will be hosted at The
Myrtlewood Gallery, 1125 Highway 101
in Reedsport.

YACHATS — Classical music singers,
pianists and instrumentalists will be fea-
tured in the 35th annual Yachats Music
Festival in four concerts: Friday, July 10,
at 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 11, at 8 p.m.; and
Sunday, July 12, at 2 p.m. and at 8 p.m.
All concerts take place at the Yachats
Community Presbyterian Church, 360
