Food Backpack for Kids (FB4K) is nearing the end of its third year feeding children at risk for weekend hunger in the Siuslaw and Mapleton School Districts. Many of the program’s partners, volunteers and donors in Florence and Mapleton attended the FB4K Appreciation Luncheon on April 21. Marilyn Barba, FB4K pro- gram leader, reported a major change this year in the pro- gram’s marketing structure that now purchases all week- end food for 73 children (60 in Siuslaw School District and 13 in Mapleton School District), from local business- es.
