A star was added for the admission of Wisconsin (May 29th, 1848) and was to last for 3 years. The three Presidents to serve under this flag were; James Polk (1845- 1849), Zachary Taylor (1849-1850),and Millard Fillmore (1850- 1853). Fact: Millard Fillmore was the first President to have a step mother. The White House’s first library, bathtub and kitchen stove were installed by the Fillmores.
