As a part of the 2015 North
Bend July Jubilee, North Bend
High School is hosting a
coastal basketball tournament.
Anyone who has attended, or
is attending, any Coos County
high school, as well as anyone
from schools in Florence or
Reedsport, is invited to partic-
ipate.
When registering, partici-
pants will be matched up with
other players who attended the
same high school to compete
against teams from other
schools for Coos County brag-
ging rights.
Players both young and old
will give the fans something to
cheer about.
The tournamnt will be held
P ERFECT
at North Bend High School on
Friday, July 17, and Saturday,
July 18.
The tournament will take
place during the North Bend
July Jubilee.

The Florence Softball Association kicked off the summer season
this past Wednesday with a total of 90 games scheduled between
now and Aug. 26, with teams playing two games each Wednesday
and Thursday at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at Miller Park. The co-ed league
will also host an invitational tournament later this summer, as
well as a home run derby fundraiser and league championship
play-off series in late August. Spectators are welcome at all
games, which are family-friendly and alcohol free.

Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the
Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane
County, teed off last Saturday at
Sandpines, with participants chipping
in more than $19,000 for the youth
program.
Individual KP winners on the fare-
way included Duane Nicolaysen (No.
5), Cam Ward (No. 8), Dean Johnson
(No. 17) and Kelley Hargens (No. 11).
Steve Atkinson and Sue Gilday each
won the longest drive for the men’s
and women’s divisions.
