Coastal Fitness
Spring Show June 4
On Thursday, June 4, start-
ing at 6:30 p.m., the Florence
Events Center will come alive
again with jumping and tum-
bling fun from Coastal Fitness
gymnasts.
This year marks the 20th
annual show and will spotlight
skills and talents of Florence’s
youth of all ages. Expect to be
inspired by the dreams of
young people whose tumbling
routines will be filled with
enthusiasm, energy and fun
effects.
Come enjoy a wide array of
abilities, color, costumes and
themes with a few surprises
mixed in as the participants
show their skills.
The show is choreographed
by Myrna Clark, a 30-year
gymnastic coach and judge
from Washington. She is
assisted by Deena Mitchell,
Brynne Sapp, Sarah Holdren,
Erin Linton, Ivy Clement,

AAA baseball team will be
holding tryouts Sunday, May
31, at the Siuslaw High School
baseball field from noon to 2
p.m.
The season will start June 15
and the team has a 35-game
schedule. The team is open to
16-19 year olds. A 19-year-old
can not turn 20 in 2015 to be
age eligible.
The team draws ballplayers
living in the coastal communi-
ties from Bandon through
Newport.
Flukes set to strum

to 4 p.m., for a song circle in

Meetings are open to ukulele

The Viking Senior is an all-around athlete. He played quarterback, completing 86 of
154 passes for 1005 yards and rushing 90 times for 473 yards and scored 14 touch-
downs in all. He played guard, forward and post for Siuslaw on the basketball court.
In the early winter, Dotson finished fourth in the Summit Decathlon in Bend, scoring
6,034 points. During track and field season, he claimed a state championship in the
300 meter intermediate hurdles, setting a new Siuslaw Record with a time of 39.24
seconds. Dotson also claimed individual Far West District championships in the 400
meters, and the 300 hurdles, along with running a leg of the district champion 4x400
relay.

School: Siuslaw High School
As a junior, Siegel finished in fourth place at the Far West District Cross Country
meet and was named the "most improved player" for the Lady Viking basketball
squad. Siegel competed at the Summit Heptathlon, ending with 3384 points and fifth
place. She too ended the year with an individual state championship. Winning the
individual title in the 100 meter hurdles with a school record and personal best time
of 15.5 seconds. Siegel also claimed the district title in the Triple Jump.
