On May 7, 1915, the first Florence Library opened with just 100
donated books and pamphlets. Today, the Siuslaw Public Library
District houses more than 165,000 print, media, and digital items
and welcomes hundreds of people every day at locaons in
Florence and Mapleton. This organizaon represents a
tradion of community support and volunteer service.
How You Can HELP
Now, on the eve of the Library’s centennial celebraon, we are
asking 100 patrons to donate $100 for our 100th anniversary.
Help ensure this remarkable legacy connues for the next 100
years by contribung to a reserve fund that will fuel the Library’s
future stability and growth.
