Fellowship of Christian Athletes supports FUUF to discuss one
of seven UU principles
Florence Caring Pregnancy Center
The Fellowship of Christian
Athletes at Siuslaw High
School is a student-led club at
SHS.
The FCA is comprised of
students who have a love of
Jesus Christ and a love of
sports.
Each year, the club chooses
two charities to support. This
spring it designated Florence
Caring Pregnancy Center.
During the month of April
FCA is encouraging commu-
nity members to donate dia-
pers, baby food and wipes by
dropping those items off at
one of the following locations:
Big Dog Doughnuts, Silver
Sand Dollar in Old Town,
Siuslaw High School and the
Florence Caring Pregnancy
Center.
Look for the pink or blue
baskets and the FCPC logo on
the sign.
Each year, FCPC helps low
income families with dona-
tions of food, clothing and
parenting education to help
young families get off to a
healthy and safe start.

on Sunday, April 26, from
10 to 11 a.m., Rev. Miller
will be talking about one
of the Seven Unitarian
Universalist Principles which
all UU congregations affirm
and live by.
The fifth principle is
“...the right of cons-
cience and the use of the
democratic process with-
in our congregations and in
society at large.”

are due soon and many
of us have no idea whether
our vote will make a
difference,” says Miller. “We
can see the difference
in small groups like our fel-
lowship, but how can one
vote matter among mil-
lions?”

Paving project to begin on Hwy 126 near Veneta
VENETA — A project to
repave 4.77 miles of Highway
126, approximately 10 miles
west of Veneta will begin soon.
The project will also install
centerline rumble strips and
pavement reflectors, proven
effective in reducing the fre-
quency and severity of
crossover crashes.
A contractor for ODOT is
currently placing signs and
mobilizing equipment.
Construction is expected to
begin as early as this week.
During construction, travel-
ers should anticipate single
lane restrictions with flaggers
and pilot cars controlling traf-
fic. Average delays of 10 min-
utes and occasional delays of
up to 20 minutes should be

Soups On to discuss unity
without conformity
On Monday, April 27,
at 6:30 p.m. everyone is invit-
ed to join a group with diverse
spiritual paths to discuss
unity without religious unifor-
mity.
The aim of the Baháí Faith
is to unify the world’s reli-
gions without imposing reli-
gious uniformity and the
recognition that each religion
is responding to and centered
upon the one divine reality.
The teachings and laws of
Bahá'u'lláh are an affirmation
of and an addition to those of
the founders of previous reli-
gions, not a replacement of
them.
The evening will begin
with bowls of spicy bean
soup, fruit, warm homemade
bread and vegetables followed
by the evening’s topic until
8:30 p.m.
The gathering will end with
prayers for the requests left in
the Prayer Pole in the garden
