Celebrating 6 Years of offering the Florence Community Dental Care Dr. Chad Clement Podiatric Physician & Surgeon The board also agreed to a suggestion from port staff to correct flaws in the online reservation software that made the online reservation date timeframe different than what is available from phone- in reservations. Another question port staff presented to the board was advance reservation deposits. “Right now, we have over $115,000 in the unearned revenue account,” Recording Secretary Dina McClure said. “That money is falsely inflating our revenue for the current year,” commissioner Fleenor said. “I think we should take that money and put it in a separate bank account that is interest earn- ing and annually or semi- annually pull it out.” The board agreed to have a policy change to vote on at next month’s meeting that would place all advance reservation deposits into a separate bank account. During the public com- ment period, Anne Caples and Diane Petky voiced con- cerns over the port taking any kind of action regarding cor- morants along the Siuslaw River. Caputo responded by say- ing, “The cormorants are a federally protected bird. The Port of Siuslaw has no inten- tion of interfering in the least bit and we have no jurisdic- tion to do anything with the double crested cormorant or any other cormorant. They are more than welcome to be here.” At the conclusion of the meeting, Caputo announced the completion of the new fish cleaning station, built by the Salmon Trout Enhancement Program, with the help of a $26,000 grant from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Restoration and Enhance- ment board. “We got final inspection and turned the keys over to the port today,” Caputo said. “The port has not come up with a plan of operation for it yet. It will be open daily dur- ing salmon season. For now, it might only be on call.” Gallery Jewelry and Gifts Here to serve your denture needs: Dr. Rincker is a Foot and Ankle from 1A Silver Sand Dollar DENTURE SERVICES INC.
