The Rhododendron Quilt
Guild will host quilt artist Rob
Appell on April 7 and 8.
Appell blends his love for
the ocean with his work as a
textile artist and designer. His
quilts are 100 percent machine
made and focus on applique
work. Check out his artistry at

Appell will present his
Trunk Show from 10 a.m. to
noon April 7, at Driftwood
Shores. The fee for non-mem-
bers is $5.
The Quick-Fuse Seascape
Workshop will be a half-day on
the afternoon of April 7, and a
full day on April 8. Both work-
shops
will be held at
Driftwood Shores.
The fee for guild members
and non-members is $70.

On Wednesday, March 18,
from 4 to 5 p.m., everyone is
invited to a free event at the
Florence
Regional
Arts
Alliance (FRAA) Art Center.
Each month, a “speakeasy” is
held, with lively topics and
conversation.
March’s speakeasy topic
will be “Take the 30-Day
Challenge.”
What is the 30-Day
Challenge? Special guest
Mark Cutts will explain this in
a short talk, and then challenge
everyone to try something new
for 30 days.
For example, how would
you write a 50,000 word novel
in a month? It’s possible, by
writing 1,667 words every day
for 30 days.
Following the talk there will
be open discussion, and those
who are interested can decide
on their own 30 day challenge.
“It will change your life,”
said Cutts.
FRAA’s Art Center is at

Admission to the March
speakeasy is free, no prior
