(NAPSA)-There are some 10,000
Americans turning 65 each day, with many
joining the growing pool of Medicare enrollees
trying to control their health care costs. And
among the worries is how best to afford and
manage what for some can be a not-so-simple
prescription drug regimen.
When you consider that a recent survey
showed more than one-third of Medicare ben-
eficiaries surveyed are concerned about pre-
scription drug costs, and one in five say they’ve
made sacrifices, such as delaying filling a pre-
scription or skipping doses to help manage
medication costs, the importance of seniors
knowing how to manage prescription drug
costs can be critical to managing their health.
Not Too Late To Save
Being able to make ends meet doesn’t have
to conflict with taking medications correctly
and on schedule. What many seniors with
Medicare may not know is that, depending on
how their insurance plan is designed, some-

The Florence Planning Commission will be holding a
public hearing at 7:00 PM on March 10, 2015, in the
Council Chambers of City Hall, 250 Highway 101, con-
cerning the following proposals:
RESOLUTION PC 15 06 VAC 01 – 76 STATION
ALLEY VACATION: An application by Ron LaFranchi of
Ron’s Oil Company reviewing the vacation of an unde-
veloped alley between 15th and 16th Streets east of
Highway 101 initiated by City Council on 3/2/15. The al-
ley extends for the length of Block 23 of Plat of Gallagh-
er’s Part of the City of Florence. The applicant proposes
that the City vacate and sell this area to the abutting
property owner in order to propose a 24-hour conven-
ience store in the future. The applicant has obtained
options for customers, which could include
identifying a lower-cost generic medication
option instead of brand name medications.

advice on medications and help identify any
potential harmful drug interactions.

range of important, preventive health care serv-
ices, including immunizations, health testing,
and helping patients manage their prescription
drug regimen-and are working more closely

RESOLUTION PC 15 02 CUP 01 – PORT FLOAT-
ING RESTROOM: A reapplication by the Port of Siu-
slaw for approval of a Conditional Use Permit to install
a floating restroom on Mile 5 of the Siuslaw River ap-
proximately 200’ south of the navigation channel. The
proposed floating restroom will consist of a 12’ x 24’
barge anchored to two 12-inch diameter pipe pilings in-
stalled by a vibratory driver. The proposed barge will
be in service from May to October. The floating rest-
room will be located at the following coordinates:
43.96647°, -124.09653°. The previously proposed site
was approximately 800 feet to the west.
