Florence Elks announce
Americanism Essay winners

Each year, Florence Elks
Lodge No. 1858 contacts local
schools and provides a theme
for the year’s Americanism
Essay Contest.
The theme for this year was,
“What does the Pledge of
Allegiance Mean to Me?”
The winners and their fami-
ly members were invited to
dinner and presentation of the
awards at the Elks Lodge
Thursday, Feb. 6.
The following winners were
honored at the reception:
• Brayden Terry was award-
ed first place and $100.
• Morgan Williams was
awarded second place and $75.
• Hayden Wisehart was
awarded third place and $50.
• Alison Bonisteel and
Nicole Cooper were each
awarded a well-deserved hon-
orable mention
The winning entries were
Oregon Pacific Bank offers
local student scholarships
Oregon Pacific Bank is
offering a $1,000 scholarship
to a graduating senior at each
of the following schools:
Siuslaw
High
School,
Mapleton
High
School,
Roseburg
High
School,
Marshfield High School, and
either North Medford High
School, Central Medford High
School or South Medford High
School.
Applicants must be in the
current graduating class of
their respective school and
must demonstrate financial
need.
Academic
achievement,
extracurricular activities and
community services will be
considered in the selection
process.
Special attention will be
given to individuals who
demonstrate leadership within
their communities.
Applications are due to
Oregon Pacific Bank on
March 30.

petitions.
