There being no wagon road from Imnaha over to Snake he has t transport his wares on the backs of ponies. Tho3. John Landers the Fruita carpen ter is building a cozy addition to the log cabin of Mr. and Mrs. John Guyan of Grouse creek near Fruita. This is in anticipation of the arri val of a fastidious guest soon to ar rive whose grand parents reside in owitzerland that land whose moun tains often ecbood the twang of Wm. Tell's bow. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Ilimelwright and their niece. Mrs. Hodgin re turned a few days ago from a de lightful outing at Duck lake. This is a lovely body of water embower ed in the woods, 30 miles above Fruita. Its length is about 240 rods and its width 1G0, Its depth is not known as no craft ever float ed upon its bosom. This l-pJy of water is evidently the offspring of volcanic agencies as it is on the high rocky divide that separates Imnaha and Snake rivers. There are two or three other miniature inland seas in the near vicinity of equal beauty and grandeur of bui roundings whose waters teem with lid) and swimming birds unused 1o the crack of the Sportsman's rifle.
