James Halley, a prominent citizen of Union county, uncle of Mrs. J;is. i Woodell, was in this county the first ;of tiie we.-k visiting relatives and ; friend and looking fur a ranch for hi j son whu wishes to locate in this ; county. j The Misses Belle Forsythe and Grace Pratt were in from Creightnn Wednesday evening, where the form er is engaged in teaching. They took back With them some s.ilmon eggs, so ; we expect to soon hear of some won ; derful catches of trout. Mr. Scott of Sheep creek was in town Wednesday trying to find out j "where he was at" in the matter of j registering to vote, and transacting i other business. Mr. Scott says Shep j creek is a good locality and he is en- : tirely satisfied with his surroundings. I Mr. Hinshaw, a brother-in-law of R. j W. Bloom, and Mr. Long, an uncle of J B. T. Long, both of Ijwa, are at pres- ! ent visiting and looking over the country. So far they are favorably impressed with the appearance of things and may conclude to locals in this county. Mes-rt. Lewis Page, Thos. Rich, Mark Thompson, Frank Gillaapie, Wm. and S. C. Himelwright of Park passed through town Monday with the Parkyn saw mill of Lostine, which Thos. Rich will install on Grouse creek in the Park. A saw mill will be a great help to the people of that lo cality. Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Calvin, Frank Reavis and W. S. Bnileigh went down the river fishing last Sunday. They caught 24 fine trout, and were them selves caught in the rain storm. Chas. McAliater was kind enough to bring them and their wheels home in a hack after they had all received a good soaking. .,.-.
