A Division Hymn
(The following song, an unusual variation from our regular chaplain’s message. was written by
( haplain John J. Watson, assistant 91st Division chaplain. It is an adaptation of the tune St. Theodulph,

The Ninety-First Division
Is on the march again:
The love of home and country
Supreme in us has reign.
From East and West and North and South
Our homes gave up the men
Who were to weld together—
Ten thousand fighting men!
The ever vernal fir tree
That lifts its head on high.
With boughs outstretched to Heaven
As if to draw it nigh—
We wear upon our shoulders,
A sign to passers-by,
A symbol sure of brothers
Who live to do or die.
With calm determination
The day we were re-born
We pledged our lives, our honor,
And danger swore to scorn.
The stories of the valor
Our men have shown before.
We heard with silent reverence
And now are common lore.
