No two acts were repetitious and the entire perform-. ante, which featured five acts, kept every audience thoroughly amused fc* the entire hour-and-a-half show. The Shell Show opened here last Friday night with two perform­ ances in Theater 2; played Satur­ day evening at the Rec Hall in the Hospital area, and later was per- f ar Lied in its entirety at Service Club 2. Those who witnessed the show maintain it is one of the fittest troupes ever to hit Camp Adar, and verbal applause can still be heard as the corporal tells the sergeant what he missed. (At the club, the Lebanon High S'at.ol dance band, under Chet Elsies’ baton (back on the post by pop-lar demand) rounded out the Saturday night show with a jazz ccBQert before the Shell revue. Moore, assist­ ant commander of the Timber Wolf Division, and Mrs. Moore, was sponsored by the Sea Gull Regi­ ment last Saturday night at the Timber Wolf Officers Club. Col. Welcome P. Waltz, Sea Gull commander, was chairman of ar­ rangements. Among the military dignitaries and their guests in attendance were Major General Gilbert R. Cook and Mrs. CeCe Cook, his daughter; General Dahlquist, General Shrugg, Col. Young and their parties. The dance was highlighted with a well-rounded floor show featur­ ing the Sea Gull Orchestra, and opening with selections by a string ensemble composed of Pfc. Howard Lang and Pvt. Herman Harrer. violins; Pvt. Sigurd Lundbarg, base fiddle; Pvt. G. Barry, guitar; Cpl. C. Larys, accordian; Pvt. L. Es- meyer, drums; and Pvt. Willard Oliver, pianist. A novelty number, whereby each members of the ensemble entered with a solo until the entire band was together and playing, proved to be quite a hit. Pvt. Ray Allen, who appeared later on the show, also sang with this group. Sgt. G. Holtzbauer and his charming wife entertained with vocal duets from Friml’s “Fire­ fly” and were followed on the show by Miss Pat Meisinger, ac- cordianist from Salem. Miss Lee Ryan, tap dancer, ap­ peared next and was followed by Pfc. Bernard Kovler, vocalist. A singing sextet, made up of Cpl. R. Beecham, Cpl. Schimente, Pfc. Kovler and Pvts. Balch, Carraire and Allen, brought the show to a close with a novelty number fash­ ioned around the Maine Stein Song and then ended in “God Bless America” with the guests joining in. The bandstand decorations fea­ tured a large divisional insignia composed of light and dark-colored roses, and ferns and small shrubs and evergreens were used in trim­ ming the club.
