guitar accompaniment, and Nicky
at the piano, “Chiquita,” “Always
in My Heart” and “Come Back to
Sorrento.” Tommy won a nice
round of applause and it is hoped
he will appear soon again.
Pvt. Jack Gates side-stepped his
routine singing and pantomiming
momentarily during the evening to
appear as “Miss Jackie Powers,” a
Dotty Lamour exponent, with a
long-sarong with a queer-rear. He
redeemed himself later by appear
ing as Jack Gates and offering
several vocal selections in his rich
hass-baritone voice.
By popular demand, and also as
a final “Swan Song.” Sgt. Tom
Pavlik of the 96th Division ap
peared as. a female impersonator
and interpreted a Hindu dancer to
the amusement of the audience.
The entire routine was executed
without a mishap ... nary a slip
of the bra. nor a dislocation of his
lurong” (shades of Tondalaya in
White Cargo”). Tom leaves Adair
for a post in Mississippi some time
this week.
Rounding out thé program was
the fine dance music of the 382nd
Band from the 96th Division. Plans
for decorations and program were
made by Miss Madge Kuhwarth.
Club 2’s social and recreational
hostess, and Pfc. Gus Cerese, man
