Martini who hit a home run and
a single in three times at bat.
Jensen, Laundries catcher, also hit
two for three.
The outcome of the contest
pushes the Laundries team out of
second place in the league stand
ings to third and advances the En
gineers to fourth.
In the opening game of the eve
ning the league leading 4-Builders
defeated a hard-trying Pepsi-Cola
outfit by a 5 to 2 score. Behind
the steady two hit pitching of Grif
fin, who chalked up his fourth
victory of the season, the winners
collected seven hits off Miller to
hold a commanding lead all the
way.
Leading the hitters for the win
ners were Gilbert, hitting three for
four, and Karamanos who hit twice
in three times at bat. Only hits off
Griffin were by Bob Quesinberry
and Varrelman.

A home run by Street in the last
half of the sixth inning with the
bases loaded and two men out
scored four runs for the Engineer
team here Monday night enabling
them to come from behind in a
dose, hard-fought contest and win
handily over the Laundries club by
the score of 6 to 4.
After the first two men up to bat
had grounded out, Feilder reached
first base on a costly error by
Miller, Laundries first sacker, and
then advanced to third on a hit by j
Martini, the next man up. Follow
ing this, Puckett, pinch hitting for ’
Rex, received a base on balls which
filled the bases for the grand slam
which pushed in the winning runs.
A rally by the losers in the fol
lowing inning was cut short by i
Pitcher Kennedy when he struck
out Miller for the last out after th.
bases had been loaded.
Leading all the hitters was Per- '
ryman, Engineer catcher, who sin-
