Taking a leaf from Salem’s book,
and going the mone better, Leba
non is in the throes of a campaign
to Start a 40-cent round trip bus
line from the strawberry city. The
Lebanon chamber of commerce is
getting help from Sweet Home in
the effort as a bus connects the
two cities now.
The Lebanon plan provides that
merchants raise enough funds to
enable them to guarantee a mini
mum number of bus fares per
month, sufficient to maintain the
necessary schedule.
Reports from the Lebanon cham-
bar indicate that the financial ar-
i ingements have been completed
and that the schedule would be in
operation now but for objections
raised by Oregon Motor Stages as
at Public Utilities commission
hearing held there last week. An-
Othe hearing is in immediate pros
pect.
