Page Two Camp Adair Sentry May 7,1942 Camp Adair Sentry In all th« former wars of our nation we have fought for the free dom of speech or freedom of the seas- But today we find the Am erican people fighting not only for freedom of speech and religion, but for the freedom of our very lives itself. Anyone who has read of the atrocities of Shanghai or the aftermath of Singapore need have little doubt of the fate of civiliza tion if this war be won by the minions of the Mikado. We are all fighting this war, from the housewife at home to the soldier at the fighting front and the course that we shall follow will have much to do with the outcome of the conflict. We at Camp Adair know that we are doing our share by building a center in which the soldiers of our country shall be taught the arts of war. We are doing a good job and when the project is com pleted and the soldiers have moved in, we can sigh our sigh of satis faction and say, “part of our job is completed.” Unknown though we are, we are the men behind the man behind the gun. We are doing our part by doing without the gas, the tires and the sugar which we have always had plenty of before, but we can still do more—buy bonds, buy stamps. One five dollar stamp a week will help to push the Japs where they belong, slap in the lap of a sap— Hitler. R D. SHARON.
