A Largn Atlcuduuce uml fine Display. The Most Siii'ce.sful Fair Lier Held. Your correspondent set out with tha determination of seeing tbe fair. Arriving on the grounds we met many friends, whose faces wa have seen on many previous occasions. The display was exc lent, lo fact, the lest ever dis played. W think that in ooint of ex cellence of quality and size soma of the vegetables exhibited far exceeded tho of tho state fair, during anno of the pre ceding years of our attendance. The pa vilion was crowded to it utmost capacity. Several stands were on tha ground, where candies, etc., were dispensed. TheSilverton band was in attendance, and oocasiotially favored the atldiencu w th a selection. A restaurant owned by llurtmandc Kemler, offered a retreat to the hungry, Hquashe and pumpkins whose colossal proportions spoke of the fertility ol the farms, fat cattle, sheep, snd last, but not least, tbe swine were thereto testify as to tha care and dili gence of the liutte creek farmer in caring lor his stock. We were esiwcially well pleased With the Young Folk's depart ment in the pavilion. Hera one could find nica jellies, pies, cake, preserves, butler snd every thing calculated to pro long lite, all prepared by liutte creek girla under fifteen year of age, while in the Boy's department on could Dnd ev erything from a potato to a gun, that apoke for the industry and ingenuity of the small boy. K. hkirviu had some sorghum on exhi bition, which seemed to have perfectly nutured, also excellent sweet potatoes. Miss AnnaCiarrwtt bad some fine grapes, green and dried, whuh were excellent. Miss Mia Drake displayed some flowers, fancy work, etc., which eiKike well for her taste and skill. Mrs. M. A. Wright and Mrs. C. K. Young had some excel lent flowers, painting, fancy work, etc., on exhibition. It would be impossible to mention all of the exhibits, suffice it to say that 011s Hundred anil sixteen persons entered ex hibits, and of course some had numerous articles there. The aggregate premiums amounted to loOO. Had il not been for the inclement weather we believe there would have been an immense crowd in attendance.
