we glean the following facts in regard to
the drowning of Dolly ISurton tit Milwau
kie last Mondav morning: Tlie deceased
came to Mr. Wills' house last Sunday
evening in an insane condition ; said he
had heeii di inking and had Hie delirium
tremens. On Monday morning about 7
o'clock lie v as seen crossing tlie railroad
bridge ; after crossing he retraced his .steps
and plunged oil the bridge into the creek.
Lewis Atchin-ion ran to assist him, hut
Hurton was drowned he fore tlie assistance
arrived. The. hod.v was found shoillv
after, lodged in some willows below the
bridge. The deeea-ed was :Y2 vears of age,
and had leen working in Smiih lhos.'.s

jury was that deceased came to his deatli
by his own will hv drowning in Johnson

mitted suicide lest Thursday night near
Hillsboro.bv shooting himself in the head
with a pistol. Tho body was found on
Friday morning reclining against a tree,
with both legs crossed and one hand in
his coat ioeket. Tiie suicide w as premed
itated and ealmlv executed, and is said to
have been caused by family troubles, lhe
deceased leaves a wife and one child.

A man going by the name of Harman,
but supposed to be one Lewis, who two
years ago was charged with seducing
his own daughter at Coos Day in this
State, and then murdering his brother
who charged him with the crime, has
been arrested at Seattle, where tie will
be detained till officers from Oregon
arrive. He was detected and recoguiz
ed at Seattle by a man named Perkins.
Lewis said he was going to Skagit to
locate a home. He was armed, and ap
peared ve-ry uneasy when charged with
