As announced, in our last, issue, the
Spartan Club of Vancouver and the
College Club of Salem, had a friendly
contest tit this place last Saturday after"
noon. About live hundred persons
were present to witness the exciting
game, ami all seemed well satisfied
with the .skill manifested by both sides.
It was quite evident after the third
inning that the Salem boys were too
strong for t!ie Vancouver Club, and al
though they struggled manfully
against the tide, it was of no avail, and
fihoColleg Club -carried -i' the hon

sides during the game, and Oreiron
