vention to meet in this city on tho sth
inst., and primaries on the 21st, at 1
o'el ck. p. m. Tlie committee only
issued the call for the purpose of select
ing delegates to the State Convention.

lar March weather since Sunday. One
moment it will be warm and pleasant,
the next hail, snow or rain. Yet we see
no reason to complain. It is generally
warm and does no harm to anv one.

surprise party was given by large num
ber of the friends of Mr. and Mrs. In.
lV-equ at their residence last Monday
evening. The attendance was quite
large and tho aif.iir very pleasant and
enjoyable.

tising columns, it will bo. seen that

oldest and most respected citizens, is

tle hope entertained of his recovery.

Saturday was well attended, being the
largest we have ever seen in this city.

Mr. Munoek, of the firm of S. W

will be on exhibition and for sale at the
Lincoln Jiakery to-day and to-morrow.
Fine Bull,. A fine short-horned
bull passed up the river last Wednes
day, belonging to Hon. J. W. Nesmith.
We did not see the animal, but learn
that lie is ot hue blooded stock.
Removed. J. R. Ralston, Rsq., an
old citizen of this place, removed his
family to Tacoma last Tuesday. May
success attend them in their new home,
Cocntv Court. The county court
has been in session -since Wednesday,
but adjourned too late .yesterday for us
to get the proceedings for this issue.

preach at the Congregational Church
next Sundav.
Called. We had a call from Ex-Gov.
Geo. L. Curry ,of Portland, last Friday
Born. In this city on the 2d inst., to
the wife of J. M. Raeon, a son.

March 5th, 174, at 'Jo'clock p.m., in the
i2d vear ot his age.
The funeraPwill take place from the
residence of his son-in-law, John
Myers, on Saturday, the 7th instant.
Friends of the family are invited to
attend. The funeral services will be
conducted by Rev. Mr. Sellwood.
