Under the capable direction of Miss
Drake, the Athena high school cast
very, creditably presented the school
play, When Smith Stepped Out" at the
auditorium Friday night, before one
of the largest audiences ever assem
bled there. Thursday of last week the
play was presented before a large
audience at Helix. Much of the suc
cess of. the play resulted from the
splendid musical numbers rendered by
the orchestra, which assisted at both
performances. The proceeds will net
the general high school fund about
1200.
Athens Defeats Hermiston
There was entirely too much'Moso
in Saturday's football game for Her
miston to win over the Athena high
school team, and the home lads won
the third game they have played this
season by a snug score of 21 to 7.
Athena took the measure of the
alfaloosies at the beginning of the
first quarter. Athena kicked off, Her
miston fumbled. Athena recovered
the ball and on a forward pass the
pigskin was on Hermiston's ten-yard
line and Mose Banister was shoved
through for a touchdown. Lefty
Kretxer kicked goal.
Hermiston spent all her reserve
force in the second quarter, when she
tied the scoreind was never danger
ous after that.
Athena came back in the third quar
ter strong and put over two touch
downs Mose Banister having his mitts
on the ball in both instances. The
touchbac,k came in the latter part of
the fourth quarter. The ball was in
Hermiston territory during most of
the game.

Super Special-50c-25c
Fun with a punch, comedy with strong dramatic action
that's what Rex Beach gives picture fans in his new Goldwyn
release, "Going Some," founded on his own famous stage and
book success. It's a thirty-third degree chuckle-chaser,
Guranteed to be a laughing gas tonic for that tired feeling
induced by hot weather and hard work. It's a mile-a-minute
humor, relaxes taut muscles and nerves alike with laughter.
A college tenderfoot from the East is taken, at his own boast,
as a champion sprinter by a lot of cowboys and compelled to
race an A. E. F. sprinting champion! He has to make good or
lose his girl. And he wins! How he wins is the fun of the
thing. "
, Also good Comedy," the Ford Educational and "The Moon
' riders." Eleven reels of splendid film entertainment. '
