Pendleton will hold its first an nual automobile show February 15, 16 and 17, and the finest showing of motor cars ever made in the Inland Empire is expected. Thirty five different models of pleasure cars, all new, will be on display. The show will take place in Happy Canyon pavilion, under auspices of the Fendleton Automobile Associa tion, each afternoon and evening of the three days, and there will be musical programs each evening, With more than 14,000 votes to spare, Miss Ethel Waddingham won the Pendleton Tribune's California trip as the candidate from this dis trict, her nearest competitor being Miss Jessie Perkjns of Frecwater. She was not far behind the lender of the entire contest, who wins the Astoria town lot. Miss Wadding ham is overjoyed, and desires through the Leader to express her gratitude to the many friends who made her victory possible. The community itself is pleased, as Miss WailHinrrVinm is ftno of it most lfiMM""' - " " popular and estimable girls. She is employed as accountant in the store of Watts & Rogers. While slimly attended, the band concert Tuesday evening was a pro nounced success from the standpoint of its musical excellence and the showing of continued improvement made by the organ;iation. In fact, the band is now approaching pro fessional standards and would do credit to a town of ten times Wes ton's population. Having invested about $2300 and being under con stant expense, it has nearly reached the limit of its res urces, and may not long survive the cold encour agement accorded by this commu nity. Its capable director, Mr. ' Lundell, has offers to go elsewhere, but remains here for the reason that he sees a future for tho Wes ton Concert Dand, .
