CTytWeox CLUB.
Vow that the time is again fast ap
proaching when the pleasure-seekiBg
youth of our beloved little city will begin
to cast aboit them in search of " some
means of entertainment during the long
winter evenings, we suggest the reorgani
zation, at as early a day as thought prac
ticable, of the Bhie Ribbon Club.
We need not urge the great import
ance of providing proper places of resort
for the younjjwho, if left to seek amuse
ments fr therhselvesii ' are in constant
danger of Keeking it from sources calcu
lated rather to degrade than to elevate,
as well us of waging constant warfare
against that fell-destroyer, intemperance.
As these are apparent to all who do not
wilfully close their eyes to the fact, there
fore we say. Let the Blue Ribbon Gtub
be rfonjiinised ! Let us hear from, the
Leader on the subject. Come, Bro.
Leader, what say youl Church and
llonne.
In response to the abeve we say that
everything that tends to promote the
temperance cause should be encouraged
and promoted. A Blue Ribbon Club
may accomplish very much good, and
even if the amouti be small, yet the same
spirit of energ and perseverance should
prevail. If a sufficient number will go
inte activ membership to zuarontee a
J good programme, it should be entered
j into. But if the Urge niujotity of rssvt-
br com listlessly up, and then go home
again, saying "they," not did not
have a good programme, not enough ta
entice them b.ck again, then it becomes
discouraging. If every member feel that
he is an integral and responsible part of
the organization, it is bound to succeed.
A Blue Ribbon Club is one of the best
means of accomplishing good in this
field. "
