Rules of Contest
Contest opens Friday April 26, and will close Saturday night,
June 15, 1912, at 11 o’clock. Any young lady is eligible to 'compete
for the prizes.
Any employe or an immediate relative of an employee of this
paper will not be eligible as a candidate in this contest.
The Contest Manager reserves the right to reject any nomina­
tions for candidacy.
This is not a popularity or a beauty contest and the prizes will be
awarded solely on merit
No candidate will receive special favors, but each and everyone
will be assisted alike by the contest management in obtaining votes.
Candidates are permitted to secure subscriptions anywhere. All
subscriptions must be paid for in advance to obtain votes.
The contest management will not be responsible for typographi­
cal errors in the publishing of votes, except to make correction in
the following issue.
No contestant can win more than one prize.
Should any question arise as to the interpretation of the fore-
goi ng rules, the decision of the Contest Manager will be final.
A ballot will be printed every week. The ballot will count for
20 votes All ballots will be void unless received at The Beaver
State Herald office m or before expiration date as printed.

How the Prizes Will Be Awarded
So that all candidates will have an equal chance, we
have divided the territory into three districts,
Diet No. 1—includes all the territory lying between Main
St and Gilbert Station.
District No. 2—includes ailphe territory west of Main St.
District No. 3—includes all the territory east of Gilbert Station
Buckley Ave.
Capital Prize
Will go the young lady polling the greatest number of
votes in the three districts.
First Prizes
The candidate polling the highest number of
votes in each district will receive a beautiful Diamond
Ring.
Second Prizes
The candidate polling the second highest number of
votes in each district will receive a Scholarship in the
HOLMES BUSINESS COLLEGE, Portland, Oregon.
Third Prizes
The candidate polling the third highest number of
votes of the three districts will receive a beautiful gold
watch.
