Sandy’s prospects for a railroad are
brighter now than they have been for
many days, in fact, since the peculiar

The energetic citizens of Sandy have
been earnestly but quietly working for
an outlet for their prosperous coiumun-
■ ity and after investigating all tbe open­
ings in the local railroad field have
chosen the Portland K. L. A P. Co., as
offering the most likely ami reliable
service. A petition was prepared and
sent io tbe K. K. Co. They looked on
the matter with favor and offered to
build and operate a line from Boring to
Sandy, a distance of seven miles, with
at least two trains a day, on condition
that the people furnish the right-of-
way and the mills the ties. These are

ready to do anything in its power at all
