intensive farming must be prac

Farmers are cutting down their
acreage and they must individu

the required amount of returns
from small herds and better
grades of cattle will need to be
kept. Now pure-bred cattle and
running at large are out of the
question. Cross - breeding and
mixing of all sorts would surely
result. It would be a great in
justice to any breeder of good
stock to have his plans spoiled,
his herd degenerated, and the
returns from his efforts cut off
just for the convenience of some
one who had a few cattle of in
different quality, and hence con
sider their care of little import
ance.
