The annual convention of the Swe­
dish Lutheran church will commence
Mondays, Aug 3rd, at * p. n> in the
church.
Tuesday and Wednesday the
services will be held in Wm. Peterson’s
grove. On Wednesday afternoon the
l.adies Mission society will have an auc­
tion sale. Dinner will be served both
days in the grove.
The Young People« society will meet
at the Lutheran church Sunday night
at ft p. m.

The annual convention of the Swe-
dish Mission church was held last Snn-
day in Win. Peterson's grove was well
attended by several hundred people who
enjoyed the day in the cool, shady
grove listening to the aertnon. A choir
from Portland was ¡»resent am! sang
several numbers and Miss Christine
Oleson rendered a solo which was very
much appreciated.
We enjoyed the plvaeure of getting
acquainted with the editor of The Her­
ald recently when he was up this wav
looking after business interests and we
wish him and his ¡taper success.

After August 1st the Portland mail
for Orient will remain at Boring instead
of going on to Orient and will be dis­
tributed at Boring to the carriers and
will lie delivered the same as usual.

at Bullrun park last Sunday and went

in these parts Saturday.
Mack Clark of Portland visited rela­
tives here last Sunday.
