the ladies of Heppner and vicinity
to the first opening of the season's
millinery, Saturday, September 12.

A new class of cuttle to be shown
at the Oregon State Fair, which
will be held at Salem, during the
week beginning September 14. is
the Polled Jersey. These will be
exhibited by Grant Maun, of Cor
nelius, and will consist of a bull
and cow which are said to be the
only anirnols of the breed webt of
the Rocky mountains.
There is no doubt thinks the Salt m
Statesman that tbe Tillamook country
will soon have four railroads twostearn
and two electric lines. They are the
Lytle road, on which work has been re
sumed, the Hiil line from Seaside,
which has been surveved and most of
the rights of way secured, and the O e
gon Electric and Doited Railways.
There is a section of laod to each man
woman and child in Malheur.
Three carloads of prunes have al-
j ready been shipped from Mosie, and
the work has jnft begun.
