Stewart & Buckhouser's new team threshing outfit arrived in this city and was taken out last Saturday. John Baesick and wife were over from their Grant county home the forepart of the week. Mr. Buesick was in buying supplies. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Crown, of Lexington, were in the city Tues day. Walter Farrens, a young man of Hardman, has bought the Henry F. Blahm ranch on Deer Creek consisting of 1200 acres. He also bought 1400 head of sheep. The price paid was $5 a head for the sheep and $0 per acre for the land Mr. Blahm has bought another ranch near Heppner and will soon move his family there. Mr. Blahm states tnat his reason for making the change was to give his children better school advantages. Monu ment Enterprise. China Lane, proprietor of fithe Elkhorn restaurant was arrested by Sheriff Shutt, Monday, charged with selling liquor in his restaurant on Sunday and also selling with out a license. Lane sold a bottle of beer last Sunday morning at 2:30 a. m. He was taken before Re corder Williams Monday and was fined $10 for selling on Sunday and SiO for selling without a license making a total of $50 which was added to the city treasury. Cribbins, tbe 13-year-old boy whose parents reside near Lexington, was brought to this city one day last week by sheriff Shutt. Young Cribbins stole a horse, saddle and bridle from W. F. Barnett, the Lexington merchant, and started to make his get away, lie sold tbe stolen animal to Jack Flett, of Rock Creek, for $10 and taking the train was apprehended at The Dalles.
