4 Husy Uaya At I'ilot Itock. The Badger mine at Susanville has now on the road 11 four-Eforee teams, one eight-horse team and six ordinary teams, iu all G horstis, engaged in hauling concentrates to Pendleton and taking out supplies for mine and meu on the home ward trip. The freighters leave much money in Pendleton and the various stop ping places on the way in payment for feed and blacksmitbing bills : and other necessary expenses. They make pessible the existence of a second saloon at Pilot Rock, and the first at Alba, the claim being that the two resorts would be out of business were it not for the bib ulous tendencies of the freighters. Business is good at the wayside inns, and everybody is glad that the Badger is sending its concen trates this way. One day a short time ago, at the halfway house kept by Archie Hascall, on Bridge creek, between Pilot Hock and Al ba, there were 42 horses being fed at noon hour, every one belorgiug to a freighting outiit going to or from the John Day. The Badger now regularly em ploys over 50 men, in addition to the freighters, who work under con tract. The teamsters all prefer hauling to Pendleton rather than to Baker City, though the latter point is much nearer the mine, lleppner is working hard to secure the trade of the district. Pilot Kock correspondence Grant Coun ty News. To the Public, Allow me to say a few words in praise of Chamberlain's Cmgh Remedy. I Lad a very severe cough aod cold and feared I would get phenruonia, but after taking tbo second dose of this medioine 1 felt better, three bottles of it cured my cold and the pains in my chest dis appeared entirely. I am most respect fully yours for health. Ralph S. Meyers, fj.-J-Thirty-Beveuth St., Wheeling, W. V. For sale by Slocnrn Drug Co. How Ion? will it take the man to fill the sack if he does not stop the leak? To attempt to nourish the body when the stomach is dis eased is like try ing to fill the sack with the hole in. it. When the stomach and other digestive and nutritive or gans are dis eased, there is a constant loss of nutrition. Enough is eaten but the body loses fiesh.-plain ?roof that the bod eaten is largely wasted because it is not digested and as similated. Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery cures diseases of the stomach and other organs of digestion and nutrition. It stops the leaks by which nutri tion is lost, and enables the building up of the body by the nutri tion derived from food. The gain in weight proves the cure. "Three years ago I was taken sick with what the doctor called nervousness and indigestion," writes Mrs. Warren E. I'arker, of Orange Street, Nantucket, Mass. "He gave me medicine for the trouble, but I could not eat even a little toast or oatmeal without suffering' reverely. In a few months I began to have distressing pains right iu the pit of my stomach. I called the doctor again and he said I had catarrh of stomach; gave me medicine but it did not do any good. I lost 28 pounds in three months. I then com menced taking Dr. Pierce's medicines and soon began to feel better. I have taken six bottles of 'Golden Medical Discovery, ' two of ' Favorite Prescription ' and six vials of Dr. Pierce's I'el 'ets. I have gained ten pounds. Can eat every thing."
