for $13,000. Mr. Young and
family have been residents of this
county for a number of years and
have many warm friends who re
gret their departure for California
where they will make their future

LOCAL SHEEP NOTES.
Lamb Market In About OverSur
plus Worked off.
"The lamb market is pretty well
over," said a prominent sheepman to a
Gazette representative this week.
The sheep are now getting settled on
winter pasture, and a part of the sur
plus of lambs has been worked off.
The lollowinj sales are reported :
A. Andrews bought 1300 mixed lambs
of Geo. Terry, of Lone Rock for $1.75
per head. This is considered a fancy
price.
B. P. Doherty bought a lot of lambs
of Lawrence Sweek for $1.80 per head.
Frank Elder purchased a lot of lambs
from Mrs. Davis. The Ga.ettk was
unable to learn the price.
Mr. Barker, of Butter creek purchased
1700 mixed lambs of Andrew Neal, of
Lone Rock, for $1.65 per head.
Mike Marshal sold 2000 yearling
wethers for $2.25 per head.

Company has filed articles of iccor
poration with the County Clerk of
Lane county. The capital stock of
the company is $1,000,000, and the
principal place of business is Eu
gene. The incorporators are R. A.
Booth, John F. Kelly and George
H. Kelly. The objects of the in
corporation cover nearly every
thing in the livestock business.
This company has been formed by
members of the Booth-Kelly Lum
ber Company, and is for the pur:
pose of developing a portion of the
property of that company, recently
acquired from the Military Wagon
Road Company, and the new com
pany will take all that portion of
the land grant east of the Cascade
Mountains which has been found
to be more valuable for stockrais
iug than for timber. An extensive
industry is thus to be developed.
