Another great discovery has been
made and that too, by a lady of this
oountry. "Disease fastened itsolutobes
opoo ber and for seven years she with
stood its severest tests, but ber vital or
gans were undermined and death
seemed emmineut. For three months
she ooagbed iooesgsntly and oould not
sleep. She finally discovered a way to
reoovery by purchasing of us a bottle of
Dr. King's New disoovery for consump
tion, and was so muoh relieved on tak
ing first dose, that she slept all night
and with two bottles bas been absolute
ly cured. Her name is Mrs. Luther

Twenty-five years is a long time, es
pecially for a woman to work in the
galling harness of a metropolitan news
paper. , '
Suoh is the reoord of Mrs. Cromwell,
vioe-president of the woman's national
press association, io the service of Cbi
oago Herald. As Washington corres
pondent she telegraphed to her paper
the daily reports of the proceedings of
the famous eleotoral commission of
1877.
A quarter of a oeotury of raoing work
like this bas enabled Mrs. Cromwell to
know what "nerves" mean. Her faith
n Paine's celery compound to restore
the nervous system when it is run down
by work, worry, rnsbof sickness, cannot
be lightly set aside:
Washington, D. C , Feb. 19, 189fi.
1602 Q st.
Wells, Richardson & Co.:
Gentlemen: A young lady residing in
my family, who has tried various reme
dies for nervous debility aod depleted
oondition of the system, found grout and
permanent relief from the use of Paine's
oelery oomponnd. I oan therefore reeom
mend this excellent remedy to those io
need of treatment of the same kiud.
Ellen S. Cromwell.
Women have their health muoh more
largely in their own bauds than tbey are
aooustotned to believe.
The impure blond tbnt undermines
ths stomach and the nervous system can
bs unquestionably euriohed; the number
of lb red oorpusolfs increased, aud the
circulation oleaoseil of humors by
Paine's oelery compound. Sleeplessness
that oanses muoh of the nervous pros
tration among women is entirely within
the control of every person who will
take pains to oorroot the bad babit the
brain has fallen into. Prof. Edward E.
Phelps, M. D., LL. D., of the Dart
month medical sohocl, in announcing
bis wonderful disoovery of Paine's oel
ery oomponnd at a meeting of the Dart
mouth medical faculty, showed bow
olosely be bad studied, in all their bear
ings upon neaitn, sucn disorders as
sleeplessness, blood impurity, and the
nervous diseases thnt are likely to follow
suoh daily poisoning of the system.
fame's celery oomponnd by its pro
nounoed nourishing power ensbles the
nerves to get back tbeir oontrol over the
circulation so that the blood supply be-
oomes greatest where it is most needed,
as in the stomach after esting, and least
where its presenoe oan only do harm, as
in the brain when sleep is needful.
The nerves, when they are strong and
properly nourished, limit the flow of
blood to the bead and draw off the ex
cess from tbe brain, thus msuring re-
refresbiog sleep. Persons who wake up
tired, drowsy and ambitionless, or oan
not Bleep a whole night through are suf
feritig from disordered nerves. Paine's cel
ery compound oalms and feeds the nerves
eveu to their tiniest branchings, and
they in their turn are enabled to equal
ize tbe blood cupply over tbe body, thus
souring the heart, preventing congestion
and rushes ol blood to ths head, dizzi
ness, paralysis, p"ia over tbe heart and
Hi ise headaches that seem to come end
go without any good ressoii, and are so
iuexplicable to hosts of men and women.
