A baking powder that can be depended upon to be tree from lime and alum is a desideratum in these days of adulterated food So far as can be judged from the official reports, the "Royal" seems to be the only one yet fouud by chemical an alyses to be entirely without one or the other of these substances, and absolutely pure. This, it is shown, results from the exclusive use by its manufacturers of cream of tartar specially refined and pre pared by patent processes which totally remove the tartrate of lime and other impurities. The oost of this chemically pure cream of tartar is much greater than any other, and it is used in no bak ing powder except the '"Royal," the manufacturers of which control the pat ents under which it is reficed. Dr. Edward G. Love, formerly ana lytical chemist for the U. S. Govern ment, who made tho analyses for the New York State Board of Health in their investigation of baking powders, and whose intimate knowledge of the ingre dients ot all those sold in this market enables him to speuk authoritatively says of the purity, wholesomeness and superior quality of the "Royal :" "I find the Royal Baking Powder com posed of pure and wholesome ingredi ents. It is a cream of tartar powder, and does not contain alum or phosphates, or other injurious substance." Prof. Love's tests and the recent ofli oial tests by both the United States and Canadian Government shows the Royal Baking Powder to be superior to all others in strength and leavening power. It is not only the most eoonomioal iu use, but makes the purest, finest flavored and most wholesome food. WORKlNt, THKM FOIi A JOB. I am trying to ttod my father. I am told that his name is James E. Bailey. I have no reoolleetion of him nor do I re member that I ever looked upon the face of a relative. My mother died 15 years ago in Boone county, Iowa, when I was only a year old. Shortly after my moth er's death I was adopted by a neighbor named Morgan. When I was about eight years old we removed to Nebraska, and at this time father seems to have lost track of me. "I undersatnd that he tried to find me, bat was basely led by an interested pai ty, to believe that I had died. I have only recently learned that the Morgans were not my parents. I am passing my days among strangers. They are nothing to me; I am nothing to them. The thought makes me home sick and lonely and sad. I believe my own dear father is living, somewhere in this wild world, and if he is I mean to find him. You can assist me if you will; but I oan offer you no reward, at present, except my gratitude and my blessing.
