U nless the men w ho ow n fa m ily orch ards take better ca re o f them they will be legislated out o f existence. It seem s to m e that it w ould be a great m istake to pre vent the g row in g o f hom e o rch a rd s on O regon farm s. T here are fe w things that contribute so m uch to the d e­ lights o f farm life as the fa m ily o r ­ chard . And I believe that we can establish m uch better fa m ily orch ards than any we n ow have. “ T he num ber o f trees should be redu ced quite m aterially.
