Beginning August 1 the Itemlzer be gan a four months’ correspondents’ contest on the same lines as hereto fore. except the prizes will be in cash. Instead of other articles, that method seeming to suit best all concerned. The most regular and most newsy correspondent during that time will receive 110, the second $5, and the thir $2.50, and the next two $1 each. Mrs Mary Stine entertained the Social Hour Reading Club Wednesday afternoon. She was assisted by Mrs. Wm Riddell Earl White attended the funeral of Homer Foster at Dallas Sunday. W. Estabrook, of Salem, was visiting friends and relatives here the past week. Mtss Lena Agee Is teaching Prof. Silvia' room during his absence. Zelma Butler is teaching Miss Agee’s room. Grandma Chapin, who has been sick at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bow man. for some time, was moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sandusky Wilson, at McMinnville, Friday. The Moose lodge of Sheridan met at the W. O. W hall last Monday night. C. W. Wester was a Portland visitor the last of the week. Quarterly conference for Ballston crcuit was held at the Methodist church here Monday. District Super intendent Moore presided. A special school meeting was held Saturday, at which a four mill tax was voted for school expenses. Notice to Creditors. Turlock has a strong organization and a splendid modern workshop and with the able leadership of these excellent people is sure to enter upon a period of renewed pros perity. The prayers and best wishes of their Dallas friends go with them as they enter upon their new work. Mr. Curtis, leader of song, will spend the remainder of the year in the interests of the Christian Endeavor, as he is a field secre tary for Oregon in the C. E. wor. Marcy is spending the Thanksgiving vacation with his family in Portland. Mrs. J. D. Moyer and Mr3. Wm. Ellis, with little Carolyn, are In Port land for Thanksgiving with relatives. It Is stated on good authority that the mill will start again on December 1st. Then everything will hum again and everyone will be busy. Miss Marguerite Flower is at home for the Thanksgiving with her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Flower. Ennis Frink, who has been quite ill for a week, Is Improving rapidly and will be out again soon.
