Mrs. William W. Dodge, whose
death by cancer occurred in
Dallas on Tuesday, October 7,
1913, was born in Jefferson
county, Wisconsin, on Novem­
ber 24, 1800. She was married
to William Dodge on July 2,1881,
it F'ort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Ohe came to Oregon about four
years ;.go, and until lately lived
n Marion county, coming to
.»alias recently. She was of a
cheerful disposition, well liked
by all who knew her, and a
?reat favorite among her ac-
luaintances. Although an in­
tense sufferer from the dread
lisease that was sapping her
i'e away, she bore the trial with
•heerfulnes7 <trd was a living ex­
ample of true fortitude. She
was laid to rest in the Odd Fel­
lows cemetery Thursday after­
noon, the services being con­
ducted by Revs. D. M. Metzger
and C. P. Gates. Besides many
sorrowing acquaintances, she
leaves to sincerely mourn her
loss a fond husband and two ad­
ding shildren, Rufus F. Dodge,
>f Lewisville, and Miss Leta
Dodge, at home. Several chil­
dren were born to the union, the
otheis having passed before.
Mrs. Dodge also leaves three
brothers and a sister in the east.
She was a member of the Bea­
vers and carried an insurance
