A unique entertainment was, 'given in the Presbyterian church on last Tuesday evenin i, which i was well attended, and we are unable to find anyone who did not thoroughly enjoy themselves. The affair was given by the La dies’ Aid society o f the church, and was designated by them as a Penny Strip social. The main feature o f entertainment was an illustrated poem, read in charac ter by Mrs* Harry Woods, who, by the way, is a gifted elocu tionist, and Miss Ollie Smith played the organ very sweetly during the rendition. The title o f the poem was My Old Sweet heart Faces, and the different characters were represented by- Willis Simonton, Alice Wilson, Gladys Loughary, Alice Miles, Claudia Brown, Louise Miles, Dora Hayes, Pauline Coad, Vera Cosper, Georgia Martin, Anna Garner, Mrs. C. L. Crider and Mrs. J. E. Miller. Solos were sung in their usual good voice by Mrs. C. G. Coad and Miss Georgia Martin. A‘ fine lunch was served at the conclusion o f the programme the basement o f the church. The entire program was under the direction o f Mrs. C. G. Coad. The receipts were turned over to the organ fund, and a hand some sum realized for the pur pose.
