The city council met iu adjourned ses­
sion last Monday evening for the pur­
pose of letting contracts for the new
street work of this year, the time having
expired given property owners to d o it.
On motion of Ellis the Metzger curb

On May 7, the students of the Dallas
j college observed their annual spring
j outing. They departed on the 7:10
; train to Falls City, Prof. Fisher leaving
his house the same time the train start­
ed and yet he showed his ability as an
athlete by overtaking it. After reach­
ing Falls Cily, the crowd moved in a
| body up Teal Creek about two and a
| half miles from Falls City. There the
' crowd divided, some went about three
and a half miles farther up the creek to
! the falls, some went either way fishing,
i and still others remained to guard the
provisions. At 1 :30 p. m. the crowd
, was seated and after singing the doxolo-
| gy, enjoyed a substantial lunch, having
as desert cake and oranges. Alter this
j they slowly made their way back to
