Polk county is free from debt, is well supplied with good roads and bridges, making taxes light. Polk county is the home of blooded horses, cattle, goats, sheep ami hogs in Oregon. Hogs do well here and are entirely free from disease. Running streams and living springs furnish an abundance of pure water for stock, even in the driest season. Polk is the banner Angora goat county in Oregon, ami ranks as third goat conntv in the United States. The money realized from tho goat industry is all profit, anti the goats more than pay their way by helping the farmer clear his hand. You will notice by looking over our list that some ure descril>ed as hill land and goat land, etc. These places are all good fruit land, raising apples that are superior, in point of flavor anti equal in keeping qualities to the famous Hood River apples, known all over the world, and we don’t ask $500 to $1000 an acre either.
