RHEUMATISM
CAN N O T B E R U B B E D
A W A Y
It is perfectly natural to rub the spot that hurts, ami when the muscles,
nerves, joints and bones are throbbing and twitching' with the pains of
Rheumatism the sufferer is apt to turn to the linim ent bottle, or som e other
external application, in an effort to get relief from the disease, l>v producing
counter irritation on the flesh. Such treatment will quiet the pain tem po
rarily but can have no direct curative effect on the real disease because it
does not reach the blood, where the cause is located.
Rheumatism is more
than skin deep— it is rooted and grounded in the blood and can on ly be
reached by constitutional treatment— IT C A N N O T BE RUBBED A\VA\ .
Rheumatism is due to an excess o f uric acid in the blood, brought about by
the accumulation in the system i f refuse matter which the natural avenues
of bodily waste, the Bowels and K idneys, have failed to carry off.
th is
refuse matter, com ing in contact with the different acids of the body, form s
uric acid which is absorbed into the blood and distributed to all parts o f the
body, and Rheumatism gets possession of the system . The aches and pains
are only symptoms, and though they m ay be scattered or relieved for a time
by surface treatment, they w ill reappear at th: first exposure to cold or
dampness, or after an attack of indigestion ir oilier irregularity. Rheum a
tism can never be permanently cured while .h . 'rcuhit.on remains saturated
with irritating, pain-producing uric acid poison,

inflammation and sw elling and such terrible pains that the nervous system
is often shattered, the health undermined, and perhaps the patient becom es
deformed and crippled for life. S. S. S. th orou ghly cleanses the b ood and
renovates the circulation by neutralizing the acids and exp elling all foreign
matter from the system. It warms and invigorates the blood so that instead
of a weak, sour stream, constantly deposit

ABSOLUTE CURE
Broke Out on Hips and Legs— Was
So Sore, Irritating and Painful
that Little Sufferer Could Not
Sleep— Scratched Constantly and
Kept Growing Worse.
CUTiCURA’S EFFECT
QUICK AND PERMANENT
“ When about two and a half years
old my daughter broke out on her hips
and the upper parts of her legs with a
very irritating and painful eruption. It
began in October; the first I noticed
was a little red surface and a constant
desire on her part to scratch her limbs.
She could not sleep and the eruptions
got sore, and yellow water came out of
them. I had two doctors treat her, but
she grew worse under their treatment.
Then I bought the Cuticura Soap, Cuti-
cura Ointment and Cuticura Resolvent,
and only used them two weeks when she
was entirely well. This was in Febru
ary. She has never had another rough
place on her skin, and she is now four
teen years old. I used only half the
bottle of Cuticura Resolvent and less
than a box of Cuticura Ointment. Mrs.
