Well Known Citizens Pass to Their
Final Record.

On Saturday last at a Salem hospital,
Miss Lucy VanTassel passed away after
an illness of onlv short duration, of
throat trouble. Miss VanTassel had
been a resident of Dallas some fiye
years, having come here with her moth­
er, Mrs. Frank Fuchs, who passed away
sometime ago with the same disease.
She was born in Chicago in 1890. The
funeral was held from the Methodist
church Sunday afternoon, and she was
laid to rest beside her mother in the
Odd Fellows cemetery. Miss VanTas­
sel was a a young lady possessed of
many accomplishments and a temper-
ment of sunshine, and she leaves many
friends to mourn her loss besides her
stepfather, Mr. Frank Fuchs, and her
young stepbrothers.
Mrs. Ruth Hubbard, wife of James
Hubbard, ¿nd daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John Guv, passed away at her home
near Dallas Monday night, of blood
poison, superinduced *by a fall. Mrs
Hubbard was a happy bride of only a
few months, and her sudden taking off
is mourned by many friends and rela­
tives. She was aged 24, and had been a
resident of Dallas all her life.
