According to Attorney Charles J.
Schnabel, it was a former citizen of
Oregon who last .Monday shot and
killed tlie clerk of the Supreme Civil
Tribunal, as well as wounding the
presiding judge at Leipsic, Germany.
The man is Wilhelm Grosser, w ho had
been defeated in a contest over a will in
that court. Grosser lived at Willainina
and employed the local attorney as a
legal adviser. The latter says he was a
most peculiar man, living in a villa of
German architecture anil in the style of
a fudal lord. Among his other peculiari
ties. Grosser absolutely refused to come
to Portland, fearing to lie served with
pipers concerning dreaded litigation.
He left here some months ago and re

Ayer’s Sarsaparilla does not stimulate. It does not make
you feel better one day, then as bad as ever the next. It
is not a strong drink. No reaction after you stop using it.
There is not a drop o f alcohol in it. You have the steady,
even gain that comes from a strong tonic and alterative.
W e wish you would ask your doctor about this. He
knows. Trust him. Do as he says. jTc
What are Ayer's Pills? Liver Pills. How long have they been sold? Nearly sixty
years. Do doctors recommend them? Ask your own doctor and find out.
